As valued customer, we would like to express our appreciation and thank you for traveling with us and your continued support.

You will have noted via the new channels that the transport sector as a whole has dramatically affected and we as a whole face many challenges in rebuilding services. We are no different and as part of the public transport services we too are in the same situation and still face our challenges. In order to meet these challenges, we need to adapt to ensure we are able to continue to provide you with the quality service you expect.

After the pandemic, we too have experienced increasing costs within the industry and our business, particularly relating to fuel and licensing costs which have spiralled up and has had an serious effect on the running costs of continuing to provide our services.

There is also an acute shortage of drivers in the private hire industry, which is having a major impact on the availability of drivers to continue to provide our services.

In order to continue and ensure that we can meet your service expectations, we are having to make some changes and adapt to continue to be the company you can still rely on for your transport and travel needs.

With this in mind we are having to increase our prices for our passenger and courier services. The fares will be increased by approximately 10% starting on 1st June 2022.

The rise in prices will help us meet the raising costs to continue and to better serve you as a customer and continue to improve our services, whilst also developing our business to meet the government’s requirements surrounding low emission and greener air.

Going on holiday is an exciting experience, but getting to and through the airport is a whole different ball game, and can often prove quite stressful. However, with a few insider airport hacks, your passage towards your final destination could be a breeze. Read on for our top airport tips and tricks to help streamline your onward journey.

1. Check COVID paperwork requirements for your destination

These days, you’re going to need much more than a passport and possibly a visa to get in to your destination country. Be sure to check the entry requirements for wherever you’re headed, including any countries you are transiting through to get there. More often than not, you’ll need to complete some form of declaration form. You may also need a negative test certificate, and/or a vaccination certificate.

Also be sure to check your airline’s requirements. Many will expect you to upload the necessary documents in advance of checking in so that they can be verified. Whilst you probably won’t be able to do this until 48 hours before you travel, you can prepare in advance. Whatever you do, don’t leave it till the last minute.

2. Check in online

Checking in online will save lots of time at the airport, especially if you are travelling with hand baggage only. This is one of the best travel hacks, as some low cost airlines charge extra to check in at the desk, so you’ll usually save money too.

3. Get organised with your airport transfer

If your flight is departing early in the morning or very late at night, you won’t be able to rely on public transport to get to the airport, especially if you don’t live nearby. So you’ll either need to drive yourself, rope in a friend or family member, or book an airport transfer. Whatever you decide to do, be sure to get organised in advance.

If you’re driving to the airport, book your parking in good time. The closer you get to your departure date, the more expensive it will be.

If you’re booking an airport transfer , make arrangements in advance so that there are no last minute hiccups. You’ll be able to get a price, and book your preferred style of transport, whether that’s a saloon, estate or family MPV. If you’re going to need a child seat, make sure you request it in advance. Whilst some airports are now installing modern X-ray machines that no longer require you to take your liquids or tech out of your bag as you go through security, it’s not the case yet across the board.

So, here’s another one of the best airport hacks for you. When you pack your hand luggage, be sure to separate your liquids into your clear bag, and place it somewhere handy so you can take it out to place in the tray before you go through the scanner at security. Do the same with your tech; keep it handy so you are not rummaging around trying to find it and holding everyone up. A bag with an external pocket to put things in that you need to readily retrieve is a good idea. Remember, one clear bag of liquids per person, and no more than 100ml per item.

Lastly, make sure you keep all your valuables on you. NEVER pack anything valuable in your hold luggage. If the bag goes missing, so will your valuables, and your travel insurance won’t cover you.

6. Weigh your luggage before you leave

There’s nothing worse than arriving at baggage drop-off, only to be told your luggage is overweight. Invest in a set of travel scales so you can weight your suitcases before you leave, and remember to take it with you so you can do the same on your return. If you don’t have your own scales, you can weigh your luggage at the airport at any empty check-in desk.

7. Go left at security

One of the best airport hacks we know has to be, when choosing a security lane, always go to the left. Most people are right-handed and so will naturally turn right. The chances are that if you go left, you will experience shorter queues.

8. Check in at the counter next to business class

When you get to the airport, if you’re checking in at the desk, or dropping off hold baggage, if you are not flying business class, be sure to queue next to that line. If is no one in the business class queue, the staff will usually call people forward from economy to speed things up.

9. Keep an eye on the departure screens

Most airports won’t announce that a flight is boarding, so be sure to keep an eye on the departure screens so you’ll know as soon as your departure gate is announced and can start making your way towards it. Minicab or taxi? The two terms are often interchanged without much thought. But in actual fact, they represent two different categories within the licensed taxi industry. So just what are the differences between the two? Let’s take a look.

What is a taxi?

Most people when booking a private hire vehicle will refer to it as a ‘taxi’. But in reality, only hackney carriages can officially be labelled as taxis. These are driven by hackney carriage drivers who are the only category of cab drivers who are officially allowed to ply for business directly with passengers on the street, and are the only type of cab that can be hailed.

In London, hackney carriages are the iconic ‘black’ cabs, although many these days are not black in colour. In other towns and cities across the United Kingdom, hackney carriage drivers may use different types of vehicles, including saloons, SUVs and executive cars. Regardless of the vehicle type, all hackney carriages will bear the yellow ‘TAXI’ light on the roof.

In London, hackney carriage drivers can only become licensed once they pass The Knowledge , a vocational series of examinations. The process of qualification takes around three years. Elsewhere across the UK, local authorities have their own licensing systems, but most will require drivers to pass a knowledge test before they are allowed to operate as hackney carriage drivers, although in most cases this is not as in-depth as The Knowledge.

Taxis are available for immediate hire and do not need to be pre-booked, although they can be booked in advance if required. They are also allowed to use bus lanes and taxi ranks.

What is a minicab?

Minicabs, also known as private hire vehicles, are available for pre-booking only via a private hire operator, and cannot be hailed off the street or ply for business. They cannot use bus lanes or taxi ranks.

In London, minicabs are not permitted to carry door advertising, and are subject to the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 . Outside of London, private hire vehicles are pretty much the same, although they are allowed to carry advertising.

The law dictates that a minicab may only seat a maximum of eight passengers.

To become a private hire minicab driver in London, you must be licensed by the Public Carriage Office (PCO) which is part of Transport for London. Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have held a full UK driving licence for at least three years before they can apply. It is also necessary to pass a Topographical Skills Assessment and an English language test.

Outside of London, you must apply to your local council if you wish to drive a private hire vehicle. The application process varies from one location to another.

At the end of March 2021, there were 251,000 licensed taxis and private hire vehicles in England, 77 per cent of which were private hire vehicles. There were 343,000 driver licenses, 64 per cent of them private hire vehicle only and 13 per cent taxi only. 22 per cent were dual licences.

Face Coverings: The Latest Rules for Travel

In England, the legal requirement to wear face coverings has been lifted. However, the government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas such as public transport. Here’s how the transport industry is dealing with mask wearing as COVID restrictions start to ease.

The majority of legal restrictions on social contact in England were removed as of 19 July 2021, but the wearing of masks is still recommended in some places, including when travelling in a private vehicle with people you do not usually meet.

Some industries and organisations have revealed what their individual rules will be on requiring face masks, but they will differ across the country. The following are some of the key places and operators that have set out their rules on face coverings…

Coaches and buses

Most coach and bus passengers throughout England will not be subject to mandatory face covering rules after the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) said it would not make them compulsory. The CPT, which represents operators including Stagecoach, First Group, Go Ahead and Arriva, said: “We expect that many people, especially in busy places, will follow the prime minister’s call to continue to wear a face covering as a courtesy to others.”

Trains

The Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents all UK train and tram operators, has said that train passengers will not be forced to wear face masks, commenting that rail travel is ‘low risk’ as most carriages are “well ventilated by air conditioning systems or by doors and windows”.

Transport for London

In London, passengers on all Transport for London (TfL) services – including the Tube, bus, tram, Docklands Light Railway, Overground and TfL Rail – will be required to keep wearing a face covering in stations and for the duration of their journey unless exempt. Enforcement officers in London will be able to refuse passengers who are found to not be complying with the mask requirement.

TfL will also ensure taxi and private hire vehicle drivers and passengers wear masks, unless exempt.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, asked TfL to retain the compulsory face covering requirement on public transport after 19 July when the legal requirement ended, saying it would provide an additional layer of protection and reassurance for London residents and visitors to the capital.

The Mayor also asked TfL to put appropriate measures in place to continue the use of face coverings in taxis and private hire vehicles by both drivers and passengers unless they are exempt.

The mayor’s decision follows his repeated calls on the government to retain the existing national legal requirement for face coverings on public transport, as one in three people who have COVID do not present symptoms, and Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) evidence states that face coverings are likely to be most effective in reducing transmission indoors where social distancing is not feasible . The World Health Organisation (WHO) has urged that even people who have been double-vaccinated should carry on wearing face coverings in view of highly contagious variants such as Delta.

Taxis and private hire vehicles

Government advice dictates that, even after receiving a vaccine, you should continue to follow the prevailing guidance on how to travel safely when using taxis or private hire vehicles.

The advice of the individual operator and driver should be adhered to, including their rules on wearing face coverings. Always check in advance if you are uncertain of the specific rules that are in place.

An effective way to reduce the spread of COVID-19

Face coverings are one of the most straightforward and effective methods of reducing the spread of COVID-19. They also play an important role in giving people confidence to travel, with a poll showing that the majority of Londoners (68 per cent) wanted face coverings to continue to be compulsory after July 19. Trade unions representing transport workers, including Unite the Union, Aslef, TSSA and the RMT backed the measures as a way of protecting transport staff.

Other European countries, including France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, are also continuing to make face coverings compulsory on public transport.

The Mayor has said the situation will continue to remain subject to ongoing review.

How what3words is Benefiting the Private Hire Mini Cab Industry

There has been lots of talk around the technology known as ‘what3words’, the easy way to communicate your precise location no matter where you are in the world. Precisely how it will benefit the mini cab industry, and passengers booking a taxi, is the topic of this post.

The street address isn’t all that efficient. It doesn’t always lead to the right place. When picking up a passenger, taxi drivers will often see the location pin dropped in the centre of a building rather than its actual entrance or car park.

What’s the problem with the traditional street address?

Road names are regularly duplicated and easy to get mixed up. In London for example there are 14 different Church Roads. And Lorne Road and Lawn Road may sound the same, but they will be completely different addresses. What’s more, some addresses may be totally impossible to find, perhaps because they are new builds that take a considerable amount of time to appear on maps and navigation systems.

These scenarios can be particularly frustrating for private hire mini cab operators, drivers and passengers. Naturally passenger will expect drivers to locate them come what may, but in practice this is not always straightforward. This is especially so when passengers are to be picked up from precise locations where no valid address is available, such as a large venue, car park, airport, industrial estate or rural area.

How does what3words work?

That what3words system makes it possible for very specific locations such as building entrances, street corners, park gates or individual apartments in blocks to be pinpointed. It uses a three word code rather than a street address, with the address starting ///.

Every three metre square has been allocated a unique combination of words known as a what3words address. All the car parks at Gatwick Airport for example have their own unique address. For example, the Q-Park offsite car park has the address ///gets.editor.letter.

In the UK, those who live in rural areas are finding what3words of particular benefit. Areas where postcodes cover large expanses, and where houses have names rather than numbers, will often prove difficult for passengers to explain their precise location, and for drivers to locate. For example, there are more than 8,000 Rose Cottage addresses UK wide.

The system is also useful within urban areas like London, where apartment living is common and buildings have multiple entrances. The same goes for railway stations where there are various meet points.

Safe Travel Advice for Passengers as Hospitality Begins to Open its Doors

If all goes well, from 17 ^th May 2021, we’ll all be able to start enjoying a meal and a drink indoors, as well as look forward to going to the cinema, taking the kids to indoor play and staying a night or two in a hotel. Larger indoor events will also be back on the agenda, and the wedding guest allowance will rise to 30. Exciting times ahead, but of course, the advice is never to get complacent, and to always stay safe.

With this in mind, if you are planning on using a taxi service to get you to wherever you want to be after 17 ^th May, it’s important that you follow the appropriate advice for passengers, and are aware of the rules that your taxi company and driver should be following.

Passenger safety in taxis and private hire vehicles

For those travelling by taxi, it is currently not permitted to share a taxi or private hire vehicle with anyone from outside your household or support bubble, other than of course the driver. This is unless the journey is made for an exempt reason . This could be, for example, if you are sharing the vehicle as part of your work.

This guidance applies even if you have had the COVID-19 vaccination.

Passengers are also currently required to wear a face covering in a taxi or private hire vehicle, unless they are exempt . Drivers are within their rights to refuse passengers who are not wearing a face covering and who are not exempt, although there is no legal requirement to provide proof of exemption.

It is important that passengers always follow the advice of the taxi operator and driver. They may make specific requests, such a sitting in the back left hand seat if travelling alone. These measures will have been put in place for everyone’s safety, so do take heed.

Where possible, opt for contactless payment, or pay online in advance. Most taxi operators will have systems in place now for cashless payments.

When you are getting in and out of the vehicle, and whilst travelling, always be mindful of the surfaces you touch, and take care not to touch your face. If you need to cough or sneeze, be sure to cover your mouth and nose.

Finally, once you’ve reached your destination, wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds. If this isn’t possible, sanitise as soon as possible.

Taxi operator and driver requirements for a COVID-safe journey

Risk assessment

Taxi operators and drivers are required to carry out a risk assessment so that they are clear on the specific risks of carrying passengers during the pandemic. Whilst they are not required to make a written statement, some will have done so.

Screens

Some private hire companies have been fitting screens in vehicles to separate drivers from their passengers. This is not a legal requirement, and the decision to do so is down to the individual operator and the local licensing authority.

Symptoms

Drivers are advised to download and use the NHS COVID-19 app to help control the spread of the virus. They are also required to ask passengers whether they have any coronavirus symptoms such as a fever, new cough or loss of smell or taste, and whether they have had a positive coronavirus test in the past ten days. Drivers are within their rights to refuse passengers who answer positively to either question.

Hygiene

Advice for drivers on hygiene is to wash or sanitise hands should they come into contact with a passenger or their luggage, both before and after contact. Support should continue to be provided to disabled passengers to help them safely enter and exit the vehicle, and to assist with luggage or mobility aids.

Face coverings

Drivers are required to wear face coverings whilst inside the vehicle. If you are expecting to be able to identify your driver, they should show their face whilst socially distancing. Where necessary, drivers are permitted to remove their face coverings in order to communicate with passengers who are hard of hearing.

Fresh air

You will find that private hire drivers will keep their windows open or use the vents of the car so that fresh air is brought in from outside. They are advised not to use the recirculated air option.

Cleaning

Between journeys, taxi drivers are required to clean those parts of the vehicle that they or their passengers have touched. This includes the likes of door handles, seat belts, protective screens and payment devices. They are also advised to ventilate the vehicle for at least five minutes, and wash or sanitise their hands.

We are all hoping that with a fair wind, and thanks to the success of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, we will all be looking at an easing of lockdown restrictions over the next three months.

With the ‘stay at home’ rule relaxed from 29 March, there is already a greater sense of freedom, with outdoor gatherings of six people or two households now permitted, and outdoor sports facilities, such as lidos in Surrey , allowed to re-open.

Of course at the moment, travel abroad is prohibited, other than for a handful of permitted reasons.

But from 12 April, as various other restrictions look likely to be lifted, providing the evidence is going in the right direction, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon as UK staycations will become possible again, albeit within certain constraints.

And that’s not all, as non-essential retail and certain visitor attractions also start to open their doors. With this in mind, let’s take a look at a few ideas of where we can go and when in Surrey over the next few weeks.

Shopping

It’s been a while since we were able to indulge ourselves in a spot of retail therapy. But, from 12 April, we should be able to get back into our favourite clothes and homewares outlets. If you are keen to get out and about and enjoy some safe shopping, here are our top recommendations.

Kingston Upon Thames offers an eclectic mix of high street, designer and independent boutique stores, as well as a bustling market place brimming with designer names, and a good helping of shopping centres. How Will Driverless Cars Impact the Taxi Industry?

The taxi industry is facing a rapid period of change, much of it fuelled by technology. And there is one area of technology that could potentially send huge waves of change throughout the sector.

Fairly recently, a self-driving taxi took fare-paying passengers on a short journey across Tokyo city centre , paving the way for a service that was set to shuttle athletes and tourists around the Olympics in 2020. Had the sporting event not been postponed due to COVID-19, who knows how the concept would have taken off there.

Over in China though, ‘robotaxis’ are already actively in use. Waymo introduced its driverless taxi service in 2020, whilst AutoX, a self-driving start-up founded by Alibaba and others, is set to introduce its robotaxi service to the general public in Shenzen very soon. The AutoX service has been operating in Shanghai also, but has safety drivers on board. Having been tested at a Chinese government self-driving test centre, the cars are now officially approved.

To summon a robotaxi, passengers use an app, although the service also despatches regular driver taxis too, and it is not clear whether there is a choice of driver or driverless vehicle. No feedback on the service has yet been shared. AutoX also has a test permit to operate driverless vehicles without safety drivers in California, although it is not yet deploying the service. Daimler and Bosch however have formed an alliance to create a self-driving, ride-hailing taxi service in California, although with safety drivers to start with.

Zoox , a self-driving car company purchased by Amazon in 2020, also recently revealed its own robotaxi. With its standout features, this four-seater vehicle could well fulfil Amazon’s ambition of launching an autonomous ride-hailing service. The first of its kind to be able to travel at up to 75 mph, this car also has the ability to handle precision manoeuvres, including tight kerbside pickups and tricky U-turns.

Are driverless taxis the future of the private hire industry?

So, are driverless taxis the future of the industry? Will they be met with a warm reception here in the United Kingdom? Or will tradition prevail?

Whilst driverless vehicles could be considered cheaper to run for taxi firms, the fact that initially the cars will need back-up support from humans as safety drives means that passengers won’t see much difference fare wise to begin with. However, as the need for safety drivers lessens, this could change.

Some commentators have even suggested that self-driving taxis may turn into a free service, funded by adverts and data harvesting.

What are the downsides to self-driving taxis?

But driverless taxis and vehicles in general do have their downsides, the most concerning of which is the threat to jobs. Higher levels of traffic, road safety concerns and the potential inability of autonomous vehicles to respond to real-life issues such as pedestrians walking out in front of them are all cause for concern. Driverless cars have already been known to cause fatal accidents , which raises the question of responsibility.

And then there’s the personal service. The local knowledge and experience of the trained driver. The commitment to safety, security and discretion. Electric Cars and the Taxi Industry: What Does the Future Hold?

The Government has brought forward its ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel-fuelled cars, including hybrids an plug-in hybrids, from 2035 to 2030, a move it says has been necessary in order for the UK to achieve its zero carbon target by 2050.

For the taxi industry, there is widespread buy-in when it comes to investing in the greener future of electric vehicles, but what of the challenges that lie ahead in terms of electric vehicle manufacturing and, more pressing for our drivers and of course their passengers, the issue of sufficient charging points to keep us all moving? And what can we expect in terms of vehicle quality?

The electric vehicle challenge

Bringing the non-electric vehicle ban date forward by five years will set a considerable challenge for the car manufacturing industry to meet demand for electric-only vehicles. Battery shortages are already delaying supply of some of them. So what is on the agenda to resolve this issue?

The Government has already funded one battery development centre, with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) in Coventry set to become operational in 2021. It has also pledged to spend almost £500 million over the course of the next four years on the development of mass-scale electric vehicle batteries.

But what of charging points?

Will there be enough charging points to keep the taxi business running on electric, and to get passengers to their destinations?

Ionity is a joint venture between the Volkswagen Group (Porsche and Audi), BMW, Daimler and Ford. It is in the process of launching 40 sites, each with up to six high power electric charging points. High power 350kW charging points allow electric vehicles to be charged in under 20 minutes. The Ionity network uses renewable energy to reduce environmental impact, and stations will be conveniently located at key motorway locations.

BP has also bought Chargemaster. This move will see the petrol station chain take over the UK’s largest public network of electric vehicle charging points. BP Chargemaster will combine Chargemaster’s 6,500 charging points with BP’s 1,200 service stations. BP is introducing 150kW rapid chargers, with 100 set up appear on forecourts by the end of 2021.

High power and rapid chargers are important to the taxi industry, as we strive to put our passengers first by spending less time charging our vehicles, and more time on customer service.

What’s more, Volkswagen has teamed up with Tesco to add 2,400 new electric vehicle chargers at 600 supermarket branches. They will also work together over the next three years to introduce chargers in selected store car parks UK-wide in a joint venture with Pod Point . Charging points are also becoming commonplace in restaurant and hotel carparks, as well as within communities such as on street lamps and at dedicated charging hubs.

What is the Government doing to encourage more electric vehicle charging points?

The Government at the end of 2020 pledged investment in Britain’s electric car charging network, with a vision that no electric vehicle owner should be any more than 30 miles away from their nearest charging point.

Boris Johnson has also set a target to expand offshore wind power capacity from 30 gigawatts to 40 gigawatts by 2030, which should help electric vehicles to become even more environmentally sound.

What about electric vehicles for executive private hire?

Passengers can expect an array of quality vehicles for their executive travel.

Audi, BMW, Citroen, Dacia, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Lexus, Mazda, MG, Seat, Suzuki, Renault, Tesla, Vauxhall and Kia are just a few of the manufacturers that have announced plans for new electric vehicle lines, or pure electric versions of existing vehicles.

What’s allowable under Tier 4?

Under the highest tier, it is still possible to visit outdoor public places with the people you live with, your support or childcare bubble or, when on your own, with one other person. Children under five years of age, and up to two carers for a person with a disability who needs continuous care, do not count towards the outdoor gatherings limit.

Whilst the official advice is to minimise the time you spend outside the home, the importance of being outdoors to positive mental health is recognised. Always abide by the current social distancing guidelines when around other people who are not part of your household.

Outdoor public places include parks, accessible countryside, woodland and beaches; public gardens; heritage site grounds; playgrounds; outdoor sports courts and facilities and allotments.

Always be mindful when arranging any outings that you must keep travel to a minimum, and that when in Tier 4, you cannot travel through or into a lower tier.

Explore 240 acres of glorious gardens set amongst a diverse landscape and featuring an array of plant species and stunning features.

As you would expect, enclosed areas such as the Glasshouse, Alpine Houses and Bird Hide are all closed, as are indoor catering venues, although takeaway options are available. How the Congestion Charge Rise has Affected the Private Hire Sector

In June 2020, the Congestion Charge was increased by 30 per cent from £11.50 to £15 per day. And back in April 2019, the Mayor of London removed the Congestion Charge exemption that previously applied to the private hire sector.

Now, only private hire vehicles that are wheelchair accessible and zero-emission vehicles are exempt from the inflated charge. Taxis however, i.e. black taxis, are exempt generally, even though many of them are diesel-powered which means they could therefore be contributing to air pollution. The move, considered discriminatory by many, is currently under appeal by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB).

A breach of the Equality Act?

According to the IWGB, the decision to remove the Congestion Charge exemption for private hire vehicles constitutes a breach of duties under the Equality Act, because a high percentage of minicab drivers, around 71 per cent, live in the most deprived parts of London. The union says that the authorities failed to weigh up whether the policy of removing the exemption would realistically meet the aim of reducing traffic, without reducing the volume of vehicles that could carry wheelchair users.

The union disputes that there has been a reasonable reduction in traffic, alleging on the contrary that by discouraging minicabs, which are more likely to be electric or hybrid-powered vehicles, whilst encouraging the diesel-powered black taxis, will have the opposite effect of the government’s objective.

The entire situation couldn’t have come at a more challenging time, when so much private hire business has been destroyed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

More pressure in an already challenging time

Here at ZedCarz for example, we’ve found the fact we now have to pay to enter the Congestion Zone has had a devastating effect not just on our business, but on our customers too.

For example, on average we would charge around £40 for a journey into London. We now have to add the Congestion Charge to this, resulting in a 37.5 per cent hike to £55, significantly reducing an already low profit margin. And for our customers this is also very unfair, especially during such economically challenging times.

Within the Congestion Zone for example there are as many as seven hospitals, as well as numerous residential and nursing homes, and not everyone is entitled to COVID-related reimbursements from the charge, or discounts and exemptions . That’s a lot of people who could now be paying a great deal more to visit relatives or attend appointments. And then there are our business customers who rely on us for travel to meetings, and also our courier service. Putting financial pressure on small businesses at this time really isn’t a good thing.

As part of Transport for London, we pay our licence fees just the same as black taxis and bus operators, so we have to agree that the move has been unfair and discriminatory.

Isn’t there a more logical approach to reduce congestion in London?

Transport for London appears to have a very large deficit in its budget, and it would seem that they are just targeting the private hire sector to try and fill a hole.

In our opinion, there are more logical ways to meet the Mayor of London’s aim of reducing traffic and congestion. For example, the transport system in London is ripe for general improvements. The roads network needs attention, and public transport could do with an overhaul too. Address all these issues, and passengers will have more of a balanced choice when it comes to travelling around the Capital. Let them make their own minds up, rather than reduce their options by making sweeping decisions or failing to provide a transport system that is affordable, safe and inviting to use.

The Congestion Zone covers an area of 21 square kilometres. Vehicles that fail to meet Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) standards must also pay an additional charge of £12.50 per day. The ULEZ is due to expand from October 2021, which will increase the burden on the private hire industry even further. Consideration really does need to be given to our industry, before the damage done becomes irreversible.

First impressions

The very first impression you have of your private hire driver really does matter. If it’s negative, chances are it will mar your entire journey. For this reason, we go a lot on first impressions when we interview our drivers. After all, what you think of our drivers is what you’ll think of us as a company overall.

Zedcarz Group Safer Transport Operations During Coronavirus Pandemic

On the 10 ^th of May, the prime minister announced the Governments roadmap to gradually ease coronavirus restrictions. On the 12 ^th May, the Government published guidance for those operating transport services (relevant to all taxi and Private hire licenses), including specific provisions for taxi and Private Hire Services.

Face Coverings & Face Masks

Transport for London (Tfl) announced the following advice for persons travelling via Private Hire Vehicles.

Zedcarz Group are providing all staff and drivers with face masks and are including hand sanitizer accessibility in all vehicles. The latest government advice suggests that wearing a face covering does not protect you, but it may protect others if you are infected but have not yet developed symptoms.

A Face covering is not the same as a surgical mask or respirators used by healthcare workers as part of Personal Protective Equipment. Zedcarz are heeding advice by TFL by supplying all drivers with pharmaceutical grade face masks whilst operating Private Hire Vehicles.

Scientific and Technical Advisory Cell (STAC)

In Late April, TFL approached STAC to ask it to examine issues around Private Hire Vehicles Use during Coronavirus Pandemic, on May 10 ^th a briefing note was received which outlined certain prevention measures and updated control guidance to be considered in the regulation of Private Hire Vehicles

Zedcarz believe these scientific, trusted and credible recommendations are extremely important and in the context of a Surrey and London emerging from lockdown in the coming weeks, Zedcarz Group have created and implemented safety measures based on the STAC briefing note as below.

Individuals who have symptoms of possible COVID-19, or who live in a household with someone with possible COVID-19 should be self-isolating and should not travel by taxi or PHV. Zedcarz drivers are trained to ask potential travellers if they are safe to travel, and will only permit passengers that are non-symptomatic (fever and cough), to travel.

Zedcarz are ensuring that everything possible is being done in order for drivers and passengers occupying the vehicle are allowing for 2m social distancing (or maximum possible distance). Where it is not possible to remain 2m apart, drivers and passengers should face away from each other, rather than face-to-face if possible. Where face-to-face contact cannot be avoided, this should be kept to 15 minutes or less wherever possible

Zedcarz are also ensuring Good Ventilation practices (i.e. keeping the windows open) which can help to reduce the risk of transmission. Air conditioning or ventilation on vehicles are set to extract and not recirculate the air within the vehicle (where possible).

Hand and respiratory hygiene for drivers and passengers in taxis and PHVs

PHE has published guidance for employers regarding hand hygiene, and which is being followed by Zedcarz Group drivers and staff, this includes;

Use of Personal Protective Equipment for protection of drivers and passengers in Private Hire Vehicles

There are a number of challenges that needs to be considered regarding wearing of face masks and gloves for all drivers and passengers to stop the spread of infection.

There’s very little evidence of widespread benefit from use of medical masks outside of clinical or care settings as to be effective medical masks must be used appropriately. Zedcarz have trained staff on proper use of Face Masks to ensure effectiveness, this includes wearing Face Masks correctly, changed frequently, removed properly, disposed of safely and used in combination with good universal hygiene behaviour.

Partition Screens

For the safety of our drivers and passengers zedcarz group are not installing partition screens in our private hire vehicle fleet.

There is no evidence available that demonstrates that partition screens in private hire vehicles reduces the risk of transmission of Covid-19 infection. Partitions in PHV’s do not provide a fully sealed compartment which completely separates the driver from the passenger. Therefore, whilst it is possible that partitions may reduce the risk of transmission of infection, the risk would not be eliminated entirely. On the contrary vehicle manufactures and driving standard have proved that partitioning screen could prove to be more dangerous if involved in an accident.

In alignment with advice from World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England (PHE), Zedcarz Group have implemented enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures in combination with medical grade PPE for all drivers, this has shown to be the most effective practice in protecting passengers and drivers from Covid-19 infection.

what about courier services?

Zedcarz Group is following PHE guidance on the delivery of post and parcels, which currently states that there is no known risk that people can contract COVID-19 through receiving parcels. However, as a precautionary measure, if you are receiving a parcel or package direct to your home, our couriers will knock on your door or alert you to their arrival, place your parcel on the doorstep and step away to a safe distance of 2 metres so that you can collect it personally. They will log your receipt of the parcel themselves and you won’t have to sign for it. If you are unable to come to the door, we will leave a note and arrange for another time to deliver your item. If you are receiving a parcel in a workplace environment, our couriers will leave the parcel with an appropriate member of staff, such as a receptionist or security guard, following the same safety procedures.

OUR OWN MEASURES

Clean Car during covid-19

We understand that people may have concerns about travelling in private hire vehicles during this time.

We can assure you that as well as following PHE advice, Zedcarz Group has put its own measures in place.

We are providing a range of protective equipment for drivers as supplies allow, including Protective gloves, hand-sanitiser gels, spray bottles, cleaning cloths and protective masks.

We can provide six-seater vehicles that offer passengers sitting in the rear seats a level of social distancing. For the same reason, we are not allowing customers to travel in the front passenger seat. Our apologies if that’s your favourite seat!

What is a PCO Driver (private Hire Minicab Driver)

Introduction

To be eligible to work as a private hire minicab driver in London, you will need to be licensed by Transport for London (TFL), Public Carriage Office (PCO). It is illegal to work as a private hire minicab driver without a license. Keep Your Car Clean Inside and Out

It is very important to clean your car (internally and externally) regularly. We advise this, as not only does it make your vehicle visually pleasing, but we guarantee it is appreciated by all customers, and will increase the chances of their return. Furthermore, keeping your vehicle clean will mean a more pleasant experience for the customers and help get you that 5-star rating. A little bit of effort goes along way! Imagine what would happen with a lot of effort.

Overtime your PCO vehicle will inevitably take some damage such as dirt and hot tar in the Summer and Grit in the winter. This is another reason to go above and beyond to make sure your car is cleaned to prevent a buildup of this and possibly severely damaging your car.

Practice Good Driving Habits

Treat your PCO vehicle with respect. Get into good habits of driving sensibly and calmly, as we can assure you customers will not appreciate it if you are driving like Lewis Hamilton. Moreover, good driving habits will go along way and this will assure that the customer has a pleasant journey and gets to their destination safely, which is our top priorities.

Even your vehicle will appreciate calm sensible driving for example, slow starts cause less strain on the engine and decrease fuel consumption. Harsh braking will affect your mileage and the car long term. Furthermore, driving your vehicle harshly will cause more problems under the bonnet, making your vehicle more prone to problems, ultimately affecting your pocket and your job. Likewise, driving in an insensible manner will also mean you are my prone to accidents which again will affect your pocket and your job. So, drive sensibly and safely and its guaranteed your customers and your vehicle will appreciate it.

Punctual, Professional and Presentable (3P’s)

Punctuality is very important; in fact, it is a must in order to be a good PCO driver. Punctuality displays a person’s respect for people and time. A customer books a cab at a certain time for a reason, so it is our job to be there on time or even a few minutes before to show we care, and to show what a good Zedcarz’s driver is. The customer will also appreciate the fact that we show up on time regardless whether they express it or not. Overall, being on time helps ensure that you’re doing your best to keep things running smoothly.

Being professional involves a variety of different components when it comes to be a good Zedcarz’s driver. Firstly, the small things matter; being punctual, polite, courteous and having good manners are key, this all sets a positive tone for the journey and ultimately putting the customer at ease. Moreover, confirming the passenger name is always a good start, you do not want to take the wrong customer to the wrong destination, believe us that will not go down well. Thus, always confirm the passengers name and where they are heading to.

First impressions really are everything for being a good Zedcarz’s driver and if you conduct yourself in an uninterested, sloppy way, people aren’t going to take you seriously and they’re going to think that you’ll have the same sloppy attitude to work, making them lower their expectations of you. Need to obtain a PCO Vehicle License

Once you’ve got your PCO license then your next priority will be getting a vehicle so that you can start earning money. You have 2 choices when it comes to vehicles, you can either hire one or buy your own.

The Vehicle PCO Licence, allows you to work as a minicab driver or chauffer with your vehicle. The licence is valid for 1 years and is issued by the PCO (Public Carriage Office) Test centres, who are part of Transport for London (TfL). This is required to ensure public safety. You cannot work as a private hire minicab driver with a vehicle that is not licensed.

If you choose to buy your own vehicle or perhaps use one you already own then you will need to get the vehicle licensed by the Public Carriage Office before you can use it for your job and start taking passengers. Currently there is an age limit on any new vehicle being put forward for licensing. The vehicle cannot be more than 5 years old from the manufactured date. In addition to this, no vehicle can remain licensed beyond it’s 10th year from the manufacture date.

Vehicle MOT

AS part your license you need to have your vehicle MOT tested every 6 months. The first MOT is due when you get your vehicle PCO licensed or when you get your vehicle re-licensed. The MOT should not be older then 14 days or it will not be accepted.

Quality chauffeur car drivers are trained to drive with common sense in mind. You should arrive at your pick-up with the route from A to B already planned and prepared. Unlike a standard minicab driver, a chauffeur won’t just rely on Google maps or other mapping applications to plan the journey. Politeness and humbleness are at the top of the list. In terms of greeting the customer. Polite conversation, spotting if the customer wishes to make conversation or not. Knowing what to talk about. For example, religion and politic are not a favourite subject to convers about.

Be there just before time to ensure that the customer is at easy that his or her ride is something they do not need to worry about. Letting the customer know that you are there but not rushing the customer. Do not keep pasturing the customer with continuous reminders that you are there and waiting. E.g. by phoning or texting or knocking.
You should away open car doors and boot if required. Assist your customer with their luggage. You should try to park the vehicle, so the customer does not have to walk far to get to your vehicle.

You should ensure your customer is as comfortable as possible throughout your journey, adjusting music, air conditioning or seatbelts to suit their needs.

Smoothness
The one quality that just about every customer will notice is how smooth the journey is. This is partly a function of the driver looking so far ahead and being able to avoid last-second manoeuvring.

The best chauffeurs will ease on and off the throttle and steer the car into bends with small, gentle movements of the steering wheel to avoid upsetting the car’s composure.
The very best will also feather the brakes as they come to a halt, releasing the pressure as the car finally stops, enabling their passengers to continue sipping champagne without spilling a drop on the leather seats. This last tip is well worth practicing, even if, like mine, your passengers are more likely to be drinking coffee out of a flask!
Be more tolerant
With better observation comes better anticipation, so you’ll notice the other aggressive drivers bullying their way through congestion well before they become an obstacle for you to avoid or comment on.
You might also find that this advanced knowledge means drivers like him become a small and insignificant part of your journey, your calm attitude leaving you free to let him in with a smile. Your journey time will not be affected but your mental stress will be dramatically reduced.
Yes, of course he’s an idiot who is driving very badly. Yes, he’s a bully and, very probably, a deeply unpleasant human being to boot. But he’s not your problem to deal with and only becomes one if you allow him into your life and life’s too short to let too many idiots into it.

While many fathers and mothers are aware of the responsibility, I.E having agreements in place to ensure proper and timely use their child has with a phone. Parents may not be aware of the many potential dangers that their children could be exposed to, if not secured properly.

Cyber-bullying
Not only does bullying happen in school and playgrounds but in the digital world aswell. Cyber-bullying includes sending hateful messages or even death threats to children, spreading lies/rumors about them online, making nasty comments on their social media profiles or creating a website to make fun of their looks or reputation.

Groomers
Those seeking to snare our children. Grooming is a process where a predator tries to draw a victims (usually young children) into a sexual relationship and maintain that relationship in secrecy. The confidentiality of the relationship is an essential feature of grooming. The online world opens the door for trusting young people to interact with virtual strangers, who purport to be of the same age and have similar interests. While sexual predators have targeted children in chat rooms, they will migrate to wherever young people go online.

Explicit Content
What you think is inappropriate material for your child will differ from your child’s view and of other parents. It also depends on your child’s age and maturity level to what content they should be exposed to. Explicit content includes; information, videos or images that may disturb your child, material aimed for adults, inaccurate information or information that might lead or tempt your child into illegal or dangerous behavior and inappropriate websites that your child may accidentally stumble upon or unknowingly be directed to.

Viruses
A computer virus is a type of program which an individual will use to target a device which will invade and perform a lot of negative functions on the device such as displaying pop up messages, tampering with personal files and data, or even deleting files and destroying the computer’s hard disk. Some viruses can hold you to ransom before releasing your information back to you or collect your personal information for identity theft. Not just children but anyone can contract viruses from a number of things such as; Opening email attachments, downloading files and programs from the Internet, opening unknown greeting cards and screen savers, clicking on certain links and sometimes just by browsing through a bad website. You can put blockers on your device which will limit what content your child can view, making sure your child is safe while browsing the web. Strangers can also hack into any device. Usually a device with a camera and microphone allowing them to get complete control of the device and being able to watch children and listen to them through the microphone and camera on the device unbeknown to the individual. It is imperative that parents monitor the device of your child is using, for any unusual activity.

Social Networks
Social media’s like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram are very popular online social networks. These are all very powerful platforms which predators also use in order to interact with young children. They do this by posing as someone who they are not or as other children. Parents should be monitoring these social networks and what their children are projecting as their profiles will share a lot of information to strangers everywhere. For example, if a social profile is not setup with correct privacy settings, kids can become victims of their own inexperience with new technology. Your child could accidentally post content on their social profiles that is very private or post something they could potentially regret in the future. To prevent this, be aware and control the social networks your child is on, and you can also make all social profiles private, so only people who you allow to see your content can view it.

The first few days of the year can sometimes seem a little bleak, but good news! There’s plenty going on in Surrey at the moment to brighten those New Year horizons. Here’s a little something for everyone to help you plan your social diary for the month ahead!

Something Cultural

For art lovers, there’s a real delight at Haslemere Museum this month. ‘Byron Cooper – Tennyson’s Country’ is a wonderful new exhibition taking place from 6 ^th January – 24 ^th February. Showcasing the Museum’s collection of works by the renowned Victorian artist, George Gordon Byron Cooper and the poetry of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the exhibition depicts the dramatic landscapes and vivid emotions of the artwork and the prose.

Something Natural

For lovers of all creatures great and small, why not take a trip to The Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley this January? Be transported into the tropical zone, and linger among the loveliness of the beautiful butterflies that live there. You’ll be sure to rid yourself of the winter blues as you indulge in the exotic colours and tropical plants. Then top the visit off with an indulgent trip to the café!

Alternatively, for something that all the family can get involved in, there’s a drop-in event at Haslemere Museum : the Big Garden Bird Watch. Enjoy making bird cakes, taking part in craft activities and learning about the bird species in and around the Museum grounds.

Something Historic

For something intergenerational this January, why not visit Bourne Hall Museum Kids Club for its ‘WW2 – A Children’s War’ event? The younger members of the family can learn about what it was like to be a youngster during the war. Events include gas mask training, air raid drills and, for a real taste of what life was like, the aftermath of a bombing.

Something Vintage

If you’re a vintage car enthusiast, put this date in your diary: 27 ^th January for the Vintage Motoring Film Evening at Brooklands Museum . Tickets include a two-course dinner followed by films showing until approximately 10:30pm. The Motoring Village will also remain open after its normal closing time of 4pm until 6pm for those attending the film night.

Something Foodie

Whether you’re of Scottish heritage or not, why not indulge in a spot of Burns Night celebration at Denbies Wine Cellar ? You’ll enjoy a traditional four course dinner, which will include haggis, neeps and tatties, a Scottish Ceilidh band in the Conservatory, live entertainment throughout, and, of course, a wee dram!

New Year in Surrey: THE Best Ways to See out 2017 and Welcome in 2018

Once we’ve finished enjoying Christmas Day, it’s time to start looking ahead to seeing in the New Year. For many of us, we’ll be lucky enough to have annual leave from work over the festive period, which means it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

With this in mind, we’ve rounded up the best activities and days out in Surrey this Christmas and New Year. Here’s how to see out the last few days of 2017, and see in 2018 – with a bit of a difference!

Boxing Day

If you’ve got family and friends staying with you over the festive period, after the mayhem which is Christmas Day itself, you may well be looking to get out of the house and ward off cabin fever. Plenty of attractions in Surrey open their doors on Boxing Day, which means that you can get out and about and enjoy some time with your loved ones somewhere fun.

Why not take in one of the county’s many pantomimes? Pantomimes are certain to bring cheer to all, and can be enjoyed across the generations. Dick Whittington is a family favourite in Guildford, or you might like to see Cinderella in Camberley.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to blow off the cobwebs and work off the mince pies, why not get active with the Boxing Day walk at Winkworth Arboretum? Four legged doggy friends are also welcome, so it really is an event for all of the family.

“Twixmas”

The week between Christmas and New Year can sometimes be a bit of a void. However, if you’re going to be enjoying some time off this “Twixmas”, why not make the most of it? There’s plenty going on in Surrey during this time.

Culture vultures will enjoy Tchaikovsky’s wonderfully festive The Nutcracker and Giselle will be performed in Guildford by the Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet from 26 ^th – 28 ^th December.

Alternatively why not indulge in a festive afternoon tea? We love the look of the Christmas afternoon tea at Warren House which is suitable for all the family and includes turkey-and-stuffing sandwiches, snowmen cakes, chestnut macaroons and mulled wine trifle.

New Year

It’s always good to start the New Year off in unique fashion. For something completely dazzling, how about the Cirque de Lumiere in Guildford ? Dress to impress, eat, drink, be merry and be entertained by an array of amazing artists.

Alternatively if style, sophistication and champagne bubbles are more your thing, how about saying goodbye to 2017 and seeing in 2018 at Denbies Wine Estate? You’ll enjoy a sparkling wine and canapés on arrival followed by a sumptuous four course meal, before dancing the old year away!

Getting in The Christmas Spirit – Ideas to Make the Most of the Build up to Christmas in Surrey

So here it is Merry Christmas, and with it everybody’s set to be having fun. That’s definitely what’s guaranteed courtesy of all the exciting events going on in our lovely county! There’s a whole host of things to do in and around Surrey during the festive build-up to help you and the family make the most of this most wonderful time of the year. Here are just some of the best of them.

Let there be Lights!

The glittering lights of the festive season are sure to bring Christmas cheer to anyone and everyone. If you’re looking to add some sparkle to your Christmas spirit, one of Surrey’s many Christmas lights switch on events in the county’s historic town and village centres are a sure fire way to do so.

The Surbiton Christmas lights switch on takes place on 24 ^th November, and will be an event that all the family can get involved in, starting with farm animal meet and greets in the station forecourt followed by a visit from the big man in red. For something suited to adults and children alike, why not pop over to the street party in Victoria Road? With a food and gift market, plus a charity bar and live music, the festive atmosphere will be in full swing!

Alternatively, why not head to Guildford on 16 ^th November for the traditional lights switch-on event which this year will include storytelling in various stores throughout the town together with live music and festive fireworks.

Christmas Shop till you Drop

The county’s Christmas markets are not only a place to source some great gift ideas, they’re also a very social event to enjoy with friends and family.

A beautiful setting for one such event is Guildford Cathedral. From Thursday 16 ^th November through to Saturday 18 ^th November, both the newly refurbished Cathedral building and the Marquee will be home to up to 70 exhibitors vending everything from Christmas gifts and handmade decorations through to exquisite cakes, confectionary, liqueurs and wines and plenty more festive fare besides!

Festive Fun

If you’re looking to fill your festive days with something a little more active, how about the ice rink at Hampton Court Palace ? Running from 24 ^th November right through to the 7 ^th January, there’s plenty of time to get your skates on!

Alternatively, if crafts are more your penchant, the Palace is also running a variety of events for all the family throughout the festive season. On selected weekends throughout Advent, you’ll find Tudor style wreath making and / or candle decorating, allowing you to create a beautiful souvenir of a lovely day out to adorn your home with this Christmas.

Eat, Drink and be Merry!

What better way to get into the festive spirit than with some Christmas spirit? From 1 ^st November through to 24 ^th December, Browns in Kingston upon Thames is running Christmas cocktail masterclasses to allow you to create your very own Christmas tipple!

If beer is more to your taste buds’ liking, how about learning what beers will pair with your Christmas menu? Craft beer specialists in Kingston upon Thames, 7000 Jars of Beer , is offering you the chance of a Hoppy Christmas with workshops to teach exactly that!

Exciting Things to do this Halloween and Bonfire Night in Surrey

Oh how we love autumn and all the excuses for getting out and about it brings! Halloween and Bonfire Night are two of the highlights of the autumn calendar, and there is plenty to treat yourself and the family to this year around the wonderful county of Surrey. Read on, then start planning your spooky celebrations and fanciful firework nights!

Treats without Tricks this Halloween…

There’s plenty to satisfy the family this Halloween in Surrey!

There is so much to do this Halloween and in the lead-up to the 31 ^st . At Birdworld in Farnham there’s a Halloween Grotto running during the school break from 22-30 October. A walk through the creepy corridors will uncover a ‘spectacle of spooks and a coven of wicked witches’! There’s no need to book, just prepare yourself for a haunting half term!

The RHS gardens at Wisley are running a Creepy Creatures event, perfect for the young (and young at heart) who love wildlife and nature. Running from 21 to 29 October, there is something different to do every day and most activities are included in the main entrance fee. From the StoryRoots Storyteller to Sow and Grow as well as the opportunity to make your own flapping moth, 3D ladybird or bee or a wooden spider, it’s set to be the highlight of the half term.

There are also pumpkin carving sessions running on Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 for an additional fee of £4 which includes the pumpkin, tools and templates. Be sure to book in advance for this one!

Also during the half term there’s the Scary Skywalk Adventure. Enter if you dare! The venue is Sandown Sports in Esher and the invitation states, ‘join us for a SPOOKtacular Skywalk experience in the terrifying treetops! ‘Brave the creepy course and watch out for supernatural beings in disguise’! It’s £15 for children and £20 for adults providing you book before 22 October.

On Saturday October 28 ^th , the Great Cockcrow Railway in Chertsey will be hosting a Halloween evening. The first trains depart at 4.30pm ready to take passengers on a chilling and thrilling ride along a darkened trail. Trains run until 8pm.

Over at Bocketts Farm in Fetcham there is set to be some seriously spooky stuff going on from 21 ^st to 29 ^th October. The farm’s idyllic setting amongst the countryside of the North Downs makes it the perfectly eerie setting for the creepy quiz trail, the Wizard Magician show, a reptile roadshow and the creepy craft corner.

Now perhaps something for the more mature Halloween revellers ….the village of Ewell, so the story goes, holds some dark secrets, and there’s an opportunity to learn about them courtesy of a Walk on the Dark Side involving a tour around the village culminating in a visit to the village’s historic jail. Find out what an 18 ^th century prison was like, listen to tales of witches and ghosts and learn about the infamous exploding gunpowder mills. A must for local history buffs looking for something intriguing and ever-so-slightly chilling this Halloween. Outings are planned for October 30 ^th and 31 ^st .

Finally, for those seeking out something especially sinister, why not pay a visit to Hampton Court Palace ? Renowned for its resident ghosts at any time of the year, the Palace is set to offer a very special late night event which is billed as not for the faint of heart! Be there for 10.30pm to join the route through the mysteriously eerie corridors whilst listening to tales of the Phantom Bear and Grey Lady. Book if you dare!

… And Top Tips for a Dazzling Bonfire Night!

Bonfire Night in Surrey is set to be truly spectacular!

Bonfire Night is one of the most colourful spectacles of the year. The best way to experience the wonder of fireworks is to wrap up warm and head out to a professionally organised display.

There are reams of Bonfire Night listings to explore right here on the brilliant Visit Surrey website .

Some of the highlights include West Byfleet Family Fireworks; Godalming Bonfire and Fireworks; Farnham Firework Fiesta; Superhero Fireworks Spectacular at Kempton Racecourse and the Epsom Fireworks Display.

Always remember to book your tickets in advance wherever possible and check just before you leave to make sure your chosen event is still running, as sometimes timings may change or events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or other reasons.
